Farewell General Hammond

I finally got around to watching Stargate Continuum tonight. I had to stop and rewind it a few times when the scene with the submarine surfacing in the Arctic came on. The sailor who's on the submarine giving permission for Richard Dean Anderson to come aboard is Barry - a fantastic guy who works for the US Navy that I met in Las Vegas when attending the Star Trek 40th Anniversary Convention. I can't believe I know someone who's now a famous star! haha

On a sadder note, I found out that Don S. Davis passed away a few weeks ago. He's the actor that plays General Hammond in the SG-1 series. I can't believe it. I know I didn't know him personally, but I have actually met him in real life. At the Stargate Convention in Chicago, 2006. I remember walking down a corridor in the hotel and he was walking towards me. I was so in awe that I forgot his real name and didn't want to call him 'General Hammond', so I just said 'oh my god, I can't believe it's you! Do you mind if I have a photo taken with you?' haha. He wasn't scheduled to appear at the convention but the actor who plays John Sheppard couldn't make it because his wife was giving birth. I'll never forget that Don S. Davis took the time to pose for a photo with me.

I managed to cut my big toe while trying to trim my toenail tonight. It bled for over an hour non stop. I finally gave up on swapping the bloody tissues and just put a bandaid on my toe as tight as I could (without feeling that tingly sensation you get when the bandaid is on so tight that it cuts off the circulation) and went to bed. Hope I don't wake up in a pool of my own blood =P
