This was such an awesome event! The main streets of Leederville were closed off to traffic and there were heaps of street stalls selling an array of gorgeous homemade wares and foods. We arrived a little late and weren't hungry enough to sample any of the foods but we enjoyed the live music being played by the musicians on the double decker bus that acted as the stage.
*raises her glass* "A toast: while most people eat to live, I live to eat. There's nothing like enjoying a delicious home-cooked meal with a fine bottle of wine in the company of fantastic friends. To life!"

Woo! I was able to attend the Mundaring Truffle Festival this year and didn't have any trouble getting friends to come with me. In fact, so many of my friends decided to go this year that it was like a reunion, bumping into various people throughout the day. As we were walking to the festival grounds, it was so chilly that I regretted not wearing boots. However, the weather grew warmer and by lunch time it was absolutely gorgeous being in the outdoors, squealing at all the different foods on offer. I was worried I'd break the bank on food today but for some reason I showed some restraint!
I did buy some truffle goodies, which I can't wait to experiment with in the near future. Pictured are the truffles I bought. $2.2 per gram. My two pieces weighed eleven grams. That'll do me...

Chorizo Paella
I was so busy eating and trying to decide what next to devour that I totally didn't take many photos at all!

A much needed afternoon coffee.
I couldn't wait to get home to begin my truffle adventure in the kitchen.

Dinner
Lamb Steak with Asparagus and Mashed Potato
with a drizzle of truffle oil and a shaving of fresh Black Truffle

I spent today catching up with some of my neighbours. We drove to Fremantle and had coffee at Zephyr Cafe in East Fremantle. It's a family friendly place with a large park and playground beside it for the kids. It's also situated right on the edge of the river so you get this gorgeously peaceful vibe.

Mocha and a mini Quiche.

The kids shared a toasted Ham and Cheese Croissant and Baby Cinos.
After a stroll beside the river, we hopped into the cars and drove to the Left Bank for a light lunch. Being a Wednesday, they had a special for their seafood platter so we ordered one to share between all of us.
The oysters were fresh, the prawns were juicy and sweet. The chilli mussels were ok, the fish was mostly batter and the calamari and chips were overcooked and dry. And cold. It's great value for money though - $40!

The burgers looked good!

I caught up with some of the Hollywood girls for breakfast in Fremantle today. The street was buzzing in anticipation of the street parade commemorating Anzac Day. It was great to see the community spirit!

I had a whole bunch of lady friends come over today for lunch. Everyone brought a plate to share - the best kind of lunch! It's awesome to see what everyone brings and I love that I can make requests for things are certain people's specialties!

Today Adrijana had invited the usual Hollywood ladies over for lunch and to catch up as she's heading over to Europe soon (lucky girl!). As usual, there were those who couldn't make it and so it ended up just being the four of us.
There was enough food for forty people.
Ack!
Spring Rolls
Sliced Meats
Sushi
Prawns Cutlets
Potato Salad
Mini Quiches
Dips
Bread
Crackers
Pastry
Antipasto
Corn Chips
Despite eating all the food, I actually still had some room left for this gorgeous meringue cake!Saturday 17th March 2012

We had a loooong day ahead of us...but we were ready! Bring. It. On.

ROCHELLE ADONIS
193 Brisbane Street, Northbridge
We kick started the day with high tea at this gorgeous little store. The decor was classy and shabby chic...the perfect setting for a bunch of well dressed ladies!

Course One - disappointingly average...

A gorgeous sorbet for cleansing the palate before the sweets.

Course Two - the sweets!

The highlight of the sweets was this little glass of some nougat icecream. Yum!

We hit the Brisbane for drinks next.

We progressed to the Ellington Jazz Club for nibblies and some live music.

Feeling pekish, we headed to City Garden for supper.
Woo! Awesome night out girls!
