Lunch at Work
Scallop & Pancetta Spaghetti

I bought whole, fresh frozen scallops from the seafood market at Carousel on the weekend. I pried the shells open to reveal beautiful, firm pieces of scallop meat. I love scallops.

FOO WAH SEAFOOD RESTAURANT
101 Collins Road, Willetton

It's been many a year since I last frequented this restaurant. Way back before they extended Roe Highway out this way. We went tonight for Jocelyn's birthday.

Singapore Style Snow Crab

with Man Tao

The crab was delicious! There's only one want to eat crab. With both hands and no apprehension about getting them dirty.

After the crab, Jocelyn ordered a few other dishes to eat with rice.

Let's just say, they were all a huge disappointment.

Boneless Chicken with Plum Sauce

For starters, we thought this would be the roasted kind of chicken with crispy skin. The sauce was too sweet. Sickly almost.

Pepper Beef

This was terrible!! There was hardly any beef in there. It was mostly slices of leek and onion. And it was very salty.

Sizzling Tofu with Pork Mince

The tofu was cut into cubes and deep fried so we all enjoyed the cripy outer layers and the gorgeously smooth insides. It's hard to go wrong with this tofu.

When ordering the crab, Jocelyn didn't realise that when ordering market priced seafood, you need to ask how much the 'market price' is and to ask for a particular sized crab. Usually you specify the weight that you want or go pick it from the aquarium and have them weight it for you so you know how much you will be paying for it.

The crab cost just over $160. Eep!

Whoa, nice page Saz! How come the crab was so expensive? Was it massive or something? Was it worth it in the end?

Hey Nga! Where are you right now? the crab was tasty...nice sauce. Fingerlicking good! But not worth $160. That price was just crazy! You could get four lobsters for that!
