Saturday 4th September 2010

Here's how my day started. I woke up at 9:15am and sent text messages to various people asking "Dim sum today?"

Two people texted back and that was all I needed.

Dim Sum at Northbridge Chinese Restaurant.

VINCENT'S 21ST BIRTHDAY

Tonight I went to a family friend's son's 21st. I haven't been to a 21st birthday party in...probably close to six or seven years. Not since the year my friends and I celebrated our own.

There was a huge spread outside in the patio and I got to work snapping away with my camera before the food was set upon by the guests.

Noodles with Seafood

Stir Fried Prawns

Pineapple Fried Rice

Mushrooms

Beef Rendang

Bacon & Vegie Wraps

Fruit Platter - Configuration 1

Fruit Platter - Configuration 2

Salmon Skewers

The star of the show - Satay!

All the accompaniments were present and accounted for.

My plate. I made sure to get a bit of everything.

I made vodka jelly shots for those of drinking age.

The birthday cake - Chocolate Mousse.

Delicious!

Now I'm still trying to acquire a taste for blue cheese, but I really enjoyed this one. It was really salty, which I liked.

All in all, a great night of food and it was nice for Mum and me to get out and find that sense of family, even if it wasn't with our own family. It's just me and Mum at home for the next few weeks. The rest of the family are overseas.

Sorry, it's me, Mum and Simba. How could I forget him!
