Congee with Barramundi, Ginger, Spring Onion and Fermented Spicy Bean Curd
*raises her glass* "A toast: while most people eat to live, I live to eat. There's nothing like enjoying a delicious home-cooked meal with a fine bottle of wine in the company of fantastic friends. To life!"

We hit the beach today again and the weather was gorgeous! We snorkelled and enjoyed the sunshine!
We were famished and had lunch at Lido's - Bun Bo Hue
Ivy's lunch looked awesome too!
Despite being exhausted after a long day, I really craved some homecooked food tonight.
Beef Noodles
Thai Basil Chicken
Zucchini with Prawns
Spinach with Garlic

I did intend for one of my resolutions this year to be to keep on top of my blogging. Oops! I'm about a month behind on my posts! I must prioritise my spare time better and motivate myself more!
This morning I woke up extra early and went for my second day of abalone fishing. It looked overcast in the morning and I was going to stay in bed but then decided I really should make an effort and make the most of the license that I purchased!
When we got to the beach, we were greeted with a choppy, grey ocean. I ventured out as far as to get myself soaked while trying to put my flippers on, but decided the water was too rough and I just didn't have the energy to battle it.
Benoit managed to catch some and we headed back to his place to make lunch.

So...another year almost over and a few more inches on the waistline.
After work I went to Benoit and Ivy's new house to help them prepare for their New Years Eve Tapas Party!
They had a menu printed out!
Braised Chorizo, Garlic and Shallots in Red Wine
Prosciutto-wraps with Mango Puree
Tuna Crustini with Tomato Salsa
Prawn Skewers
Smoked Salmon & French Onion Canape
Calabrese Bites
I helped to cook the skewers on the BBQ!
Candied Chicken Kebab
Pork Souvlaki with Mint Yoghurt
Sesame Chilli Vegetarian Skewers
Mango Saltimbocca Spikes
Teriyaki Nigiri
Chilli Crusted Medallions
Fries with Spicy Japanese Dip
Crisp Cinnamon Banana Boats
As you can see, a few of the items didn't make it to the table but there was more than enough food at the end of the night!
Ivy made these little prawn cakes and we thought they looked much like little burger patties. So, using our culinary ingenuity, we turned them into mini burgers!
Lovely food, Fantastic company, a wonderful year all round!

Ooh this was far better than the mango ice cream, in my opinion! Even though Ian no longer works with us in the lab, I have taught him well so that he still knows to send us some food for our weekly lunches!
Surf & Turf
Scotch Steak with Saffron & Garlic Prawns served on a bed of mashed Potatoes
