Last night the Benoit gang and I went for dinner at Lapa Brazilian Barbecue in Subiaco. We had the all-you-can-eat for $49 and as such, we were determined to eat our money's worth of meat.

We ordered some of the side dishes but tried to keep eating these to a minimum. The meats arrived on swords and the staff members sliced or pried them off for us when we nodded eagerly and said 'yes please!'

I spent all night waking up in hot sweats...must have been alot of salt or something in the marinades. The meats were really well seasoned and flavoured but I guess I'm not used to eating so much salt.

We ate so much meat, we were dreading the fact that we had two chickens waiting at Benoit's place to be cooked for our dinner tonight. As soon as Benoit got home, he threw one of the chooks into the freezer and we agreed we'd cook just the one chicken and let Kong eat it since he didn't come to Lapa with us. The rest of us would just eat vegetables.

I've been getting lazy at bringing my camera with me this week...these photos are from my phone!

entree: Benoit's Pumpkin Soup

We roasted the chicken with homemade stuffing.
Onion, garlic, celery, bacon, sage and breadcrumbs.

We roasted potatoes, carrots, corn on the cob, cherry tomatoes and green beans.

main: Roast Chicken and Vegetables

The chicken turned out really well! Despite last night's meat overdose, we all managed to eat the whole chicken.

dessert: Benoit's Coconut Sago
