*raises her glass* "A toast: while most people eat to live, I live to eat. There's nothing like enjoying a delicious home-cooked meal with a fine bottle of wine in the company of fantastic friends. To life!"
I forgot that I had a few lobsters in the freezer at Mum's until I went to see her one day and she had removed the lobster meat for me. I used some for a salad.
Lobster Salad with a Thai Green Curry dressing.
The dressing was some of the curry paste I made, mixed with a bit of olive oil and lemon juice. Very fresh and spicy!
I decided to throw together a BBQ tonight and invited some friends, family and neighbours. We set up the Weber Q outside on a bench made from bricks and planks of timber. The weather was beautiful and we sipped our sparkling outside as the meat sizzled away on the BBQ.
Minute steak seasoned with peppercorns and spices from IGA.
Mum made a few platters of sushi and stirfried noodles.
I made a few salads and bought chicken sausages and pork chipolatas for hotdogs.
Rebecca and Sarah made cupcakes!
The Plantaganet Pork Ribs that Rebecca brought were awesome!!
Tonight I busied myself cooking a large batch of bolognaise sauce. I froze a third, used a third for spaghetti bolognaise for work dinners and saved a third to make lasagna.
Mum gave me some of her homemade salted fish and I shredded some up to cook with cabbage. It makes a delicious side to go with a bowl of steaming hot rice porridge.
I also had some fermented chilli bean curd. Yummo!
