Tonight Ramona, Marissa and I went to dinner at Lago di Como on Preston Street, Como. The restaurant is most likely a residential house that was transformed into a restaurant. It's small but cosy. My photos are a bit dark because the place wasn't brightly lit and we were so hungry that I didn't have time to play around with the camera settings. Just point and shoot before digging in.

We shared a few dishes for our entree:

garlic bread

grilled field mushrooms

eggplant stack

The garlic bread was heavenly! Toasted to perfection and buttered generously on both sides. I could have eaten more. The two entree dishes were fantastic! The grilled mushrooms came with some pesto and parmesan cheese on top. There was a thick layer of creamy ricotta in the eggplant stack. I've been inspired to use the remaining eggplant I have at home to try to recreate this dish!

For our mains:

myself: Spaghetti Marinara

Marissa & Ramona: Gnocci

My pasta was delicious! The spaghetti cooked al dente, the sauce was light and the seafood mixture fresh and abundant throughout the pasta. I tried a piece of Marissa's gnocci and agreed with her that it was good!

After a very satisfactory dinner, we were disapointed to find that the cafe we wanted to go to was closed for the night (it was only 10:30pm on a Saturday night!), so we drove to Dome just off Mill Point Road.

A good night relatively free from work talk. Just what we needed after this crappy week of work. Fantastic choice of restaurant, Marissa!
