This morning I woke up and made breakfast. I'd brought a few eggs from home so I fried one up to go with some of the pepperonata I made. As usual, when cooking with a foreign/new fry pan and stove, the dynamics are different and you can only try your best to guess how the heat will distribute itself throughout the pan etc. So... the egg came out a bit brown on the bottom because the heat was too high. Nevertheless, it wasn't burnt so it was still edible with the pepperonata that I just reheated in the microwave.
On the way to work, I stopped by at Mrs Pelle's place to pick up my dinner. She had made some deep-fried stuffed zucchini flowers for dinner last night and saved me some!
some other deep-fried fritters
a pastie
sauce to dip them in
This is the first time I've ever eaten stuffed zucchini flowers - I'm a zucchini flower virgin! They were soooo yummy, I can only imagine how much more delicious they would have tasted if I had been sitting at the Pelle's dinner table last night eating them fresh!
Back at my friend's place, I took out their cabbage and a few carrots and put them together with the chicken thighs, garlic, onion and home-grown celery I'd brought and made some chicken soup with pasta.
I had a few bowls before bed.
