Marissa and I did a bit of a food swap at work. Yesterday I brought her some of the lamb stew I made for her dinner, and today I found a nice surprise in the fridge at work. She made me a noodle stirfry with a little mini schnitzel. Yum! I've been craving this particular type of noodle stirfry for weeks! I had it for my morning tea.

For lunch, I was so ravenous! I forgot to take a photo until I got through almost all of it. Mum made Thai basil & chilli chicken, which I packed with some rice and a fried egg.

After work, I drove into South Perth to pick up some cakes from the Globe Coffee House to take to the Pelle's place for a visit. When I got there, I went to have a look outside at their garden as usual. Mr Pelle took me into his shed where he ages his wine and filled up a bottle for me to take home. He also ripped up some oregano for me to plant.

Back inside, Marissa made us our coffees and then served up her cake to start with.

We then did a Cake Degustation with the cakes that I bought from the cafe. They were such small pieces to begin with, so it was absolutely awesome how Marissa cut each one into four pieces so that we could all try a bit of each. Here's the order we tried them:

Coffee & Chocolate
Pistachio
Hazelnut
Lemon & Lime
Wildberry
Raspberry & Mascarpone

By the end, we were all sugared out! The cakes have to be the best ones I've ever come across in a cafe. I must spread the word about them!

Back at home, I had a really late dinner. Mum made a favourite dish of ours that she usually makes a few times a year if we're lucky.

Sticky Glutinous Rice
otherwise known as 'lor mai kai'
