I got outside in the garden after work today to try to finish off the paving I'd started. It's hard work levelling the ground and then lugging those pavers around and trying to place them as close to each other as possible. I'm extremely happy with the job I've done, but I need to get to Bunnings to get a few more pavers as I ran out at the end.

Before I headed inside to clean up and get ready to go out for dinner, I took some photos of my plants that have begun bearing 'fruit'.

cherry tomatoes - the yellow ones are the ripening ones!

little baby capsicums!

We went to Miss Maud in the city to celebrate Marie's birthday. They were decked out in full Halloween decor - the skeletons by the door were creeping me out. I was horrified that they might move and I'd embarrass myself by screaming. Thankfully, this did not happen!

Yay! Buffet!

There were two elderly gentlmen playing live music while we dined and it was such a wonderfully cosy ambience. We asked them to play 'happy birthday' for Marie, and they went one better. They announced her birthday, gave her a paper crown and a birthday sticker, not to mention they embarrassed the hell out of her! haha! I asked if they could sing Dean Martin's "It's Amore", but they ended up singing an original composition where they inserted Marie's name into the song to serenade her. A really fun night!

Saz: "Marie's wearing a paper crown!"
Marie: "I can't believe I'm wearing this crown!"

Sharon came along tonight, we haven't seen much of her since high school. During the night she showed us her credit card with a photo of her and her husband on the front. It was some sort of special promotion. Below is the photo I'd have put on my credit card:

"Do you really need to buy that?"

We went to Fast Eddy's on Albany Highway afterwards for tea and coffee. We ordered a few bowls of chips but were rather disappointed that some didn't seem to be cooked all the way through.

Very happy to get into bed by midnight tonight!
