Today I took on the long awaited task of cleaning my main fish tank. I’ve put it off for almost a month so that I could clean it out just before going on holidays. First, I took out the plastic plants and tried to scrub the algae off with an old toothbrush and bleach. It didn’t come off. Okay, I left the plants to soak in the bleach water for a few hours while I went inside to clean the rest of the tank.

I took the filter apart and check out the filter sponge!!

I’ve had fun asking people what they think it is.

Jocelyn - “Is it cake?”

Aunty - “What cake is that?”

Each time it’s pretty much the same response. I thought it looked like a piece of chocolate cake or a brownie. Needless to say, when I reveal the truth that it’s a filter sponge loaded with fish excrement, I get disgusted cringes - hee hee.

In the evening, I was shouting some friends to dinner. I picked Ben up from work on the way and headed back to his house to get Ivy and wait for the others. She’d thought that I was coming over to eat dinner so she’d made us sushi! Just as well because we were famished and I polished off a whole plate myself before we headed out.

Cinnamon in the Park

We had our hearts set on Indian cuisine tonight so we decided on this place on Albany Highway, Victoria Park. Despite all the sushi we ate, we still were hungry enough to order quite a few dishes. Even if we weren’t hungry, we had to wait an hour and a half for our food to arrive so we were quick to devour it all when we finally got it.

We kept ourselves entertained...sad faces!

Being a typical Indian restaurant, all the serves are pretty small anyways – good for sharing.

Vindaloo Beef
Butter Chicken
Prawn Jelfrezi
Eggplant
Okra
Saffron Rice
Roti

After dinner, back home!
