I've been here once before with Ling, Shallen and Kong many years ago. It's a well lit place with a lovely location. It's a pity we couldn't sit outside al fresco style. The weather was a bit chilly but the sun was warm and a glass of wine would have made it perfect.
that they use for salt and pepper!
'Manzo' Pizza - mozzarella, pancetta,
char-grilled mushroom, olives, ham
&
Eggplant Moussaka
The eggplant moussaka came in expresso coffee cups. Quaint, but I was disappointed at the size. There were two of these spoonfuls of moussaka per serve. Lucky we only ordered the one serve since it cost $14. Mum and I had one each. The bechemel sauce was deliciously creamy and overall it was fantastic, but it was like licking the top off of a lasagne. Not much substance to it at all.
The pizza was absolutely gourmet!
FOD - pan fried Red Snapper with Salad
Scotch Fillet steak medium
fennel Salad and Kipfler Potatoes
with a Pomegranate Jus
David and I had both asked for our steaks to be cooked medium, but they came out well done. Not happy Jan. The steak wasn't overly tough, but I would have enjoyed it oh so much more had it been medium. Or even medium-rare. I would have sent it back but we were low on time since I had to get home and pack for my flight to Melbourne this evening.
After lunch, we drove to the nearby Globe Cafe on Angelo Street. I love the cakes they make here!
We headed home afterwards and I had an hour to pack for Melbourne.
