Today we had morning tea that lasted pretty much most of the afternoon for one of the girls at work who's leaving to go work and travel in the UK. Our fumbling blundering idiot of a boss was away for the day so we had a fantastic stress-free day and it was made all the more happier with all the colourful balloons and our carefree laughter. This is what work used to be like. *sigh*

Everyone brought in something for the morning tea (which by the time we got around to having was afternoon tea).

fresh breads

mini tarts

I loved the little lemon meringue that I shared with Nadine. It was so yummy!

chocolate cake

I brought a slice of last night's potato gratin for lunch today and the rest of it for something savoury at the afternoon tea.

Sara, if you're reading my blog...we're going to miss you and work will be much quieter without you. Goodluck in London and hopefully I will be there soon so start checking out all those pubs so you can take me out for dinner!

STEAM BOAT NIGHT!

With the weather getting colder, it means more steamboat nights! I finally got to try out the electric steamboat pot I had to drag back from Singapore for Mum.

We each brought some different things to throw into the stock.

yong tau foo
pork belly
chicken
beef slices
tofu
enoki
squid
barramundi
Ling's meatballs
fish maw
wombok
bee hoon

We did a pretty good job of finishing nearly all the food.

After dinner, we went to the lounge to sing some karaoke. We made a start on the huge container of warheads that Jocelyn bought for me from FAL. David brought some Vienetta for dessert. I haven't had this for so many years! When we first moved to Perth in the early 1990's, we discovered this ice cream and ate it all the time.

who in mah face!?
