This morning at work one of the scientists went to a breakfast meeting and brought me back this half of a blueberry muffin for morning tea. Yum!

Dinner
Seafood Laksa

Vietnamese rice noodles
Prawns
Fish Cake
Squid
Red Capsicum
Fried Tofu

Wednesday 3rd November 2010

All I brought to work for lunch today was a chicken and corn schnitzel, in the hopes that there would be plenty of salad left over from yesterday's Melbourne Cup Day lunch to have as a side.

I was in luck!

Tuesday 2nd November 2010

MELBOURNE CUP DAY 2010

Although my bets didn't win, I was content with the lunch that work put on for us.

A local eatery catered gourmet pizzas and salads for us.

Cous Cous and Pumpkin Salad

Greek Salad

This was a winner - Chicken & Vermicelli Salad

Someone brought in cupcakes and a chocolate cake.

It was just as well that it was a quiet day at work because I was in dire need of a nap after the several glasses of sparkling I had at lunch.

Dinner
Pork Scotch Fillet with Chips & Cabbage

Monday 1st November 2010

Dinner
Cajun Spiced Pork Scotch Fillets with Asparagus,
Baked Potatoes and Fried Cabbage

I love cabbage. Cabbage and pork are the perfect marriage. I sliced the cabbage up finely, then fried it in the pan juices left over after cooking my pork scotch fillet. I added more olive oil, some sea salt and a generous splash of verjuice.

The pork was cooked just right. Juicy!

Sweet and simple.

Sunday 31st October 2010

This morning Marissa, Teresa and I went to dim sum.

DRAGON PALACE
66 Francis Street, Northbridge

Teresa and I had two servings of the tripe!

Chicken Feet

Rice Flour Rolls with Prawns

Rice Flour Rolls with Char Siew

Marissa didn't know what these buns were called so last time she took a photo of them on her phone and we were able to order them by showing one of the staff the photo. Isn't technology wonderful!?

They were some sort of baked buns with pork inside.

DINNER WITH THE PELLES

Teresa prepared some kidneys by washing them thoroughly
and seasoning them with Vegeta.

The kidneys and lamb chops were cooked on the mini charcoal BBQ.

The kidneys were delicious!

Fresh cucumber and tomato salad with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

Marissa made the pasta sauce - I had two servings!

Saturday 30th October 2010

MEZ Mediterranean Cuisine
1/182 James Street, Northbridge

Tonight I caught up with several of the girls I used to work with for dinner. It just so happened that tonight was Pride Night (Perth's annual Mardi Gras) and so we had trouble getting parking.

We all had the meze set menu.

Antipasto

Seafood and Risotto

Greek Salad

I know...I am so disappointed that I had my camera on the wrong setting so my photos have come out in an awful yellowish hue. I think I was too distracted by the glittery floats and Perth's proud gay community dancing past outside on the street.

Meats! Lamb, Chicken and Roasted Vegetables.

The potatoes were delicious and I polished them off while everyone else had had enough. The lamb was incrediby tender and just melted away from the bone when you tugged at it slightly with the fork!

"Melt in your mouth goodness"

A selection of desserts.

Thursday 28th October 2010

On the way to work today, I stopped by at the shops to run some errands. I wanted to bring some snacks to work for everyone and it just so happened that the bakery in Woolworths was having a special on the party meat pies and sausage rolls.

I bought these two 12 pack trays for only $5!

The ones we didn't eat today will go into the freezer for an emergency snack stash.

After working the late shift, I didn't really feel like a large meal when I got home from work. So, I fixed myself up a little platter and enjoyed it with a glass of wine before bed.

Prosciutto, Chilli Salami, Artichokes and Goats Cheese.

This goats cheese is the same brand as the soft chevre that I bought a short while ago, but this one comes in a little cake shape and has a harder texture. More like baked ricotta. Delicious!
