Singapore Day 8

[1130hrs] Christina and I shared some roti with curry for breakfast.

[1400hrs] Arriving at Bugis, Christina and I split up to do our own shopping and I immediately headed towards the food court. Alot has changed since I was last there in February this year. They’ve revamped the whole place. I found the food court and spent a few minutes slowly wandering around, looking for my target.

the Bugis "Food Junction"

Mixed Beef Soup - SD$4.50

Alas! I didn’t realise that I ordered just the soup and not the dish with noodles! I couldn’t be bothered trying to order a side of noodles so I just happily ate my soup. The pieces of tripe were delicious! I took comfort in the fact that without the noodles, I would get hungrier again sooner.

[1600hrs] Due to meet Christina at 4pm, I bought a snack while I waited for her.

Takoyaki - octopus balls - from Takopachi - SD$2.30 for 3

[1700hrs] I picked up my laptop from Sony Central at Wisma Atria on Orchard Road. I forgot to bring my receipt but fortunately they accepted my passport and credit as a form of identification. They asked if I had received the mouse when I paid for everything a few days ago, but I couldn’t remember so I told them no. They gave me one. As soon as I got home, I went to check the bag with all my Sony gadgets and saw a mouse. I got a free mouse!

After a long day out shopping, I took the MRT home. I boarded a carriage that didn’t have seats so without giving a second thought to what the other passengers would think, I put down my shopping bags and sat myself down. It’s a 45 minute MRT ride back to Choa Chu Kang from Orchard Road and I wasn’t going to stand the whole way. Pretty soon after, people were following my example and sliding down the sides of the carriage to sit down. Hee hee

[1900hrs] After dropping my shopping off at home, I headed out to get dinner at Lot 1.

Yong Tau Foo
enoki
2 x chinese vegetables
beancurd with fish paste
2 x chilli with fish paste

[2000hrs] Went for an evening swim.

[2100hrs] Watched "the Little Nonya".

[2200hrs] Took a walk to the 24 hour food court to get supper. Shopping centres close at about 10pm each night here so you can imagine how busy it was with everyone trying to get dinner/supper. I finally got home with my food.

Laksa - SD$3.50

Christina had the ‘white’ Char Kueh - SD$3.00 (large serve)
