Another year, another birthday.

The girls at work decorated the lab with balloons and banners for me today. It made coming to work not so bad.

Last night I made Hedgehog Slice instead of getting a cake.
Oh my gosh, it was so decadent, if I do say so myself!

Later in the evening, I realised I didn't bring anything for dinner and Ian kindly donated the lunch that he never got around to eating. Woo!

Sunday 22nd May 2011

With a big day of painting ahead, I woke up and made myself breakfast.

I had two egg yolks in the frige leftover from the chilli crab I made last night (the sauce only required the egg whites) so I added them to an egg I had already cracked open. It looked like I had a freak egg with three yolks in the bowl!

Bacon and Eggs - is there a better breakfast!?

After the day's hard work, I picked up some food for me and Jocelyn from Spencer Village.

Combination Ho Fun from Penang Foods - $8.5

Saturday 22nd May 2011

On the way to work this morning I picked up some breakfast for the girls! If we have to work on a Saturday, we should at least indulge in a good breakfast! We recently discovered that Dome do breakfast to go. Woo!

Bacon & Egg Toasted Baguette from Dome

We all gobbled up half of the baguette each and were too full to eat the other half...next time we will have to share!

POT LUCK DINNER AT KONG'S

I didn't know what I was going to make but saw the seafood van parked near UWA on Stirling Highway so I bought some crabs.

Wednesday 18th May 2011

As the time for me to move out of the family home draws nearer, I really should enjoy more of Mum's cooking while it's right under my nose. That and I have been spending most of my time off work at the house getting it ready for painting. By the time I get home I feel like just taking a shower and crawling into bed to allow my sore body to heal while I sleep.

Eggplant with Sambal
Ginger Chicken
Twice cooked Pork Belly

Tuesday 17th May 2011

Between work and preparing the house, I haven't got much time to unwind, let alone celebrate my birthday this year. I figure I'll forego a big party until the big three-o next year.

Instead, I had a few friends over for steamboat!

Capsicum stuffed with Fish Paste

Chicken Thigh seasoned with ground white pepper,
soy sauce, sesame oil and a cracked egg

Squid and Basa fillet

We always need some vegies - Wombok and Enoki

This was my second bowl!

Dessert was some Mango Jelly that I picked up from 99 Seafood.

Meng...did you miss out!

Monday 16th May 2011

Recently, two of my good friends tied the knot but I wasn't able to make it to the wedding as I was in Bangkok. However, on my return I made them a card and sent them a little gift.

It's been a while since I've done any scrapbooking. It's time consuming to drag all my bits and pieces out, let alone finding time and inspiration. I also just don't have enough table space either. I can't wait to get into my house and set up one of the bedrooms as an arts and crafts studio. I'd love to get one of those drafting tables that architects use!
