HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Just a regular day for me today. I went out in the garden today to give it a good watering. Look at it...it's a stark contrast to what it was just a month ago before I left to go on holiday.

Some of my herbs are ok. The thyme, oregano and sage - they don't require too much water, in fact, they don't like being overwatered. Some of my basil is ok too. The rest of my herbs have dried up and gone to seed. So it's not all lost...I can collect the seeds and replant.

can you spot the creature on my basil?

Although my cherry tomato plant looks dead, I think it's still holding on. There are still lots of tomatoes and some are in the progress of ripening. All the leaves are dead and shrivelled up so I'll have to get out there and remove them all so that new ones can push through. I picked a bunch of the cherry tomatoes - Ling and Shallen told me that they had a good harvest of them while I was gone and that they taste fantastic. They were right - so juicy!!

Back in the kitchen, I was inspired by my delicious cherry tomatoes to make a pasta using them.
