It was overcast today but that didn’t stop most people from sun/cloud baking. I took a stroll around the ship and had a few drinks by the pool. What with team games and trivia inbetween, before I knew it, it was time to head down to my cabin to get ready for dinner.
After dinner, as has become the custom, everyone went off to watch one of the scheduled shows for the night and I went to have a drink in the Wheelhouse Bar and watch the couples dancing. I can’t help but feel envious that all these people have found each other and are able to enjoy the company of their soulmate. Noel and Fleurette joined me for a drink before their show and they had a bit of a dance.
When the band took a break inbetween sets, I would go outside to the open atrium and watch the pianist who played every night from 9pm onwards, Brad Stevens. He is fantastic! The bar near where he plays is called Tee Many Martoonies’ and they have an extensive list of martinis. Julia and I pledged to drink every single one. Well...at least try to! When you order a martini, the waiter bring it out in the mixer and shakes it infront of you before pouring it perfectly into your glass. The service on this ship is absolutely wonderful!
For the past few nights I’ve been going upstairs to the Horizon Court to get a snack and sit outside on the deck by the pool to get fresh air. It helps with the seasickness that I otherwise feel when I’m cooped up in my cabin. I can’t help but feel so alone in these early hours of the morning. Everyone is sleeping while I’m up contemplating my life and wishing that this holiday would never end.
