After lunch, we strolled through the cafe strip and spent a few hours in the Fremantle Markets. I love going there for the corn on a cob and to buy fresh vegetables.
Afterwards, Christina and I took David around a few more stores and then raced against time to get to Cottesloe Beach to catch the sunset. When we got there, the sun had already sunk halfway into the horizon. After soaking in the evening glow, we went to the Indiana Tea House to see if we could have a cocktail but they wouldn't accommodate us for that. It was sit-down meals only. I've never been interested in going for lunch or dinner at this restaurant. The concensual feedback I've received is that the food is ordinary and you'd only go for the view. I'd rather buy some fish and chips and sit on the grass out in the fresh air.
We crossed the road and ended up having some nibblies and drinks at the C Blu Restaurant at the OBH. We had oysters three ways and a cheese platter. *sigh* Such is the life.
Straight from there we drove to the city to meet up with Jocelyn, my mum and aunty for dinner at Midori. We were having a teppan-yaki style dinner. Their menu consists of different banquet sets where you usually get a salad, a choice of entree and main(s), and dessert. It's dinner and a show!
sirloin steak, and our dipping sauces
After our meal, the teppan-yaki chef rolled up an egg omelette on the grill and took it in turns to throw it at us in the hopes we'd catch it in our mouths. We all missed (and got splattered with egg in the face) except for Jocelyn and her boyfriend. The chef then chopped the rest of the omelette up in a way that it went flying off the grill and all over Jocelyn's boyfriend.
and at our request 'welcome to Australia' in salt
- backwards and upside down from where he was standing!
After such a long day of eating, sightseeing, and eating, we all headed home.
