We went to the Golden Century Seafood Restaurant on James Street, Northbridge. An easy choice since it was the first dim sum place we came across as we parked just down the street.
I only took the one photo this morning - I was too hungry and suffering dim sum withdrawal so couldn't wait to just dig in. *Yay! Chicken feet!!
Afterwards, we walked down the road to Dome but we couldn't find a table so we decided to go to South Perth for coffee. I'm so glad Dome was busy because the cafe Ling and Shallen took us to in South Perth was fantastic! We went to the Globe Coffee House on Angelo Street, South Perth.
Shallen and I went to order the coffees and I was immediately drawn to the cake display. Now, normally I am not a sweets person nowadays but lately I have been craving little cakes and cookies. I think I literally squealed in delight when I saw the gorgeous cakes they had. I asked the owner if I could take a photo of the cakes and he cautiously gave me permission - yay!
We decided on a few to share:
Pistachio
Raspberry & Mascarpone
The raspberry and mascarpone cake was the one I saw first but there were a few others in there that I would have loved to try too. It was my favourite one - so creamy, not too sweet, but just right.

After our little indulgence, we went a few buildings down the street to the Secret Garden Cafe where they have a nursery out the back. I bought some seedlings and was seriously eyeing off the mulberry tree. I have always wanted to get a mulberry tree because I love the delicious berries they produce but have never actually seen one for sale before. I think I am going to have to go back there and if it's still there, I'll make it mine.
Wandering around the nursery got us in the mood for the outdoors so we stopped in at Bunnings on the way home. We got some plants - ai yai yai I need to stop buying plants because I'm running out of room to plant them!
Back at home, I spent about an hour watering my plants and checking up on them before heading over to Noel and Fleurette's place with Simba. Fleurette and I took him out for a jog/walk and then Noel made us some drinks to have with some nibblies outside.
Getting near dinner time, Fleurette made us some chicken soup. It was delicious!! It had zucchini, chicken, vermicelli, corn, carrots, tumeric, bay leaves, and a few other things. I added some chilli flakes but I think my favourite bit was the tumeric - it just really enhanced the flavour of the soup. I had a second bowl later!
