[0500hrs] David (Jocelyn’s boyfriend) arrived in Singapore so I went with them to get an early breakfast at the 24 hour food stalls.
Back at home, I had a coffee, did some blogging and then fell asleep for a few hours.
with Lucky looking on nearby
[0930hrs] Second breakfast! I polished off the rest of the shui kueh I bought earlier - SD$2.20 for 8 pieces.
[1200hrs] I made lunch for us at home before we headed out. Aunty had bought some various pieces of yong tau foo from the markets.
[1300hrs] Went to Lot 1 to have a manicure and pedicure. My feet have been feeling really swollen these last few days. I think it’s due to both the humidity and all the walking. The salon we went to had awesome massage chairs. I was pretty much in heaven while having my back and shoulders massaged by the chair and my feet pampered.
While one technician was working on my feet, another was doing my nails. The lady doing my nails didn’t speak English, but she was so cute when she tried to communicate with us. I was busy reading a magazine when out of the blue, she said "Baby?"
I looked at her and said, "Sorry, what?"
"Baby?" - she pointed at my stomach.
Ohh, she was asking if I was pregnant!!
I smiled, shook my head and replied, "No".
HAHAHA - She apologised a few times but it just made my day!
[1700hrs] Bought some sushi to bring home for our afternoon tea.
and I forget what the last one is... SD$0.70 each
We also gave into the lure of the deepfried food on sticks from Old Chang Kee.
Fried Baby Octopus stick - SD$1.40
[1700hrs] I had to take my Aunty’s dog, Lucky, downstairs for his toilet break. We were rushing to get to the MRT to meet up for dinner, so I tried to take him on a shorter trip but he wouldn’t budge from him regular route and so I ended up being walked by him!
[1730hrs] Took the MRT to Selegie House to meet with Mum, Aunty and cousin David. We went for drinks and nibblies at a bar run by David’s friend, Willin, called the Wild Oats Bar by the Park. We sat outside and had a bottle of wine with our nibblies. The weather was nice and cool and the place would be great to catch up with friends. It reminded us of Taylor’s in the Swan Valley back home in Perth.
Battered Prawns with Wasabi Dip
to bring us complimentary nibblies -
little tart cases with mushroom and truffles
[2000hrs] We drove to Boon Tong Kee for dinner.
Roast Chicken
Steamed Fish
Steamed Tofu with Minced Pork
