Ham Wrap with lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, bean sprouts & mayo
I also showed Jocelyn how to dice some chicken thigh, season it with olive oil and 'Portugese Chicken' spice from the Masterfoods range, panfry it, and put together a wrap herself.
Tonight I was invited to Marissa's place to catch up with her and Teresa over dinner. Haven't had a chance to kick back with them since I got back from my holiday. I was really looking forward to seeing what Teresa had made!
This pasta was delicious!! I had to have seconds. The tortellini was a different brand to what Teresa usually buys and the quality wasn't as good. The tortellini didn't keep their shape too well but the sauce more than made up for them!
I brought a small bag of some yellow cherry tomatoes from my garden and Marissa added them to the salad for a bit of colour.
The guy who mows Marissa's parents' lawn gave them some of these fresh organic tomatoes from his garden. They're like nothing I've seen before and they tasted absolutely fantastic! I was looking up something on google when I came across this huge database of different types of tomatoes - I believe it's an Heirloom Tomato but there are so many hundred types of different heirloom tomatoes that I couldn't even guess which type this one is. I think I'm going to have to order some seeds and restart a bigger, better tomato garden!
This is a beautiful drop. I brought it to Marissa's place a while back during one of our other degustation events and we never got around to drinking it. Marissa's been resisting the temptation to drink it on her own - hee hee.
After dinner, Marissa made us some 'champagne slushees'. She basically put a scoop of sorbet into a champagne glass and poured the champagne over it - it was actually sparkling - I'm sure you realise how expensive real champagne is! Now, she was trying to find lemon sorbet but could only manage to get lemon lime sorbet...the lime really overpowered the taste of the whole drink so we weren't too pleased with it.
After getting halfway through my slushee, I was starting to get used to the taste. I don't know if I was beginning to enjoy it or if it was just the alcohol misleading my senses...
Teresa let me try some of the sago dessert she made last night - yummy! It's a pity I was too full to manage any more than a teaspoon.
At about 11pm, Marissa's friends (who happen to be her neighbours) returned from their trip to Melbourne and invited us over to have...Krispy Kremes. I had three expressos while Mick divided the donuts into quarters so we could all try some each. Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep tonight!
