Tonight Jocelyn and I took Dad out for dinner for his belated birthday.

DUSIT THAI
249 James Street, Northbridge

Singha
Thai imported beer $8

Tom Kha
chicken soup with coconut milk, galangal, lemon grass, coriander, lemon juice, chilli and kaffir lime leaves $8.5

Pla Pow
grilled fish fillets with lemon grass, galangal, kaffir lime leaves and fresh herbs; served with homemade hot and spicy sauce $26.5

Gang-Pa
hot and spicy red curry (without coconut milk) with chicken, green beans, bamboo strips, basil leaves and herbs $21.5

Som Tum
shredded raw papaya mixed with sliced tomatoes, green beans, chopped garlic, chilli, pounded peanuts, dried shrimp, lemon juice and palm sugar $19.5

Nam Ma-Kham
prawns stirfried with hot and spicy tamarind sauce $30.5

The prawns were absolutely delicious! The som tum is probably my favourite Thai dish. Light and refreshing. Overall it was a delightful meal, but we believe it was overpriced for Thai food. The prawn dish alone was $30.50!!

The grilled fish was really nice. I think the name sounds like Klingon heehee!
